The 2025 Society field trip took us to a number of Irish cities and walled towns that had not previously been visited as part of the Society visits. Seven members kicked off the road trip, setting out from Shaw’s Bridge on the morning of the 15th August. Cars were packed with the traditional umbrellas, but by a degree of providence these remained unused throughout the trip as we were blessed with the perfect weather for exploration. Copious notes on our destinations and their importance as Irish cities and walled towns were provided by Randal Scott, so plenty of reading material for the trip was available.
