NSI (NB) Regular Meeting - Dr Nicholas Wright presenting a talk on the coinage of Argead Macedonia

This talk will provide a summary of the coins of the Macedonian kingdom from the start of the 5th century BC down the end of the Argead dynasty in 311 BC. It will place the coins in their historical context along side such kings as Alexander Philhellene, the apocryphal Olympic champion, the enigmatically named Amyntas the Small, and Alexander the Great.

NSI (NB) Regular Meeting - Guest Lecture

NSI-NB is privileged to host our guest lecturer Timothy Millett (Historic Medals) presenting a talk "Convict Love Tokens: Popular Imagery 1790-1860" on Friday 5th October 2018, 19:30 at Shaws Bridge, Belfast.   The talk will revisit the convict love tokens putting them into the context of their influences from the period. Timothy is interested to see where the images they used derived from and to study the desire to be remembered. Everyone is welcome to attend the event.

NSI (NB) Opening Meeting (Denman International)

It is with the great pleasure we announce the start of the coming numismatic season 2018/19 which will bring new discoveries, bargains, speculations, discussions and facts to entertain our unquenchable thirst for all numismatic and historical. The opening meeting will take place on Friday 14th September, with the main treat being a numismatic quiz, which no one could ever win or cheat, but our loyal secretary. Come along and meet those passionate  hobbyists who would rather swap a good night sleep for a riddle of an old penny and the history reborn from the times bygone.
