Alexander The Great at Queen's 2016 - An Open Learning Course presented by Dr Nicholas Wright (Member NSI-NB)

August 29, 2016

For better or for worse, Alexander the Great changed the face of Western and Central Asia. In this new 2016 edition of the course run by the professional field archaeologist and numismatist Nicholas Wright, you will follow in Alexander’s footsteps from the snow-capped slopes of Mount Olympus, across the dusty plains of Asia to the monsoons of India. You will investigate the cultures that influenced the great conqueror and explore the new Hellenistic world which grew up in his shadow. The course 'Alexander the Great and the Hellenistic World' (OLE2308) will be run for QUB Open Learning and classes will be held on Tuesday evenings from 7.00 pm to 8.00 pm for ten weeks, starting 27th September. The course has optional assessments and is credit-bearing (5 CATS points).

Please also take note of another course by Nic for QUB Open Learning, 'Ancient Greek and Roman Coins' (OLE1819), which will be run in ten weekly sessions on Tuesdays 7.00 pm to 8.00 pm, starting 24th January 2017.
