Alexey Shitvov Revisiting the Story of the Roman London Mint
Since the first expeditions of Julius Caesar in BC 55/54, the troublesome province of Britain had become the most important military theatre for Rome and a cradle to a range of usurpers and Roman emperors alike. In his brief talk, Alexey revisits the events that led to the foundation of the Roman mint in London and its short history from Carausius thru Constantine I and his family. Through the art and taxonomy of the coinage it is revealed how the London mint operated and the
